KARL LAGERFELD new collection Pre-Fall 2026
KARL LAGERFELD new collection Pre-Fall 2026 draws from ballet costume design, combining monochrome tailoring, sculptural accessories and fluid tulle layers. Hun Kim balances precision and softness through sharp silhouettes, biker-inspired outerwear and contemporary contrasts, creating a theatrical wardrobe shaped by movement and modern elegance today.

KARL LAGERFELD new collection Pre-Fall 2026 channels the theatrical precision of ballet costume design into contemporary tailoring, balancing structured silhouettes, soft tulle volumes, graphic outerwear and sculptural accessories through a monochromatic palette shaped by movement, contrast and controlled fluidity throughout

For Pre-Fall 2026, KARL LAGERFELD draws inspiration from the stage. The collection references the costumes Karl Lagerfeld created for the Brahms-Schönberg Quartet at the Paris Opera Ballet. It transforms that visual language into a contemporary wardrobe focused on movement, precision and contrast.

The collection relies on a restrained black-and-white palette softened by subtle gradients. Clean tailoring meets fluid volumes throughout the silhouettes. Structured jackets contrast with asymmetrical tulle layers that introduce softness, lightness and movement.

Tailoring remains central to the collection. A sleeveless double-breasted suit sharpens the silhouette with graphic precision. Pleated skirts create rhythm and flow. The white shirt, one of Karl Lagerfeld’s most recognisable signatures, returns with crisp cuts and bold contrasts that strengthen the Maison’s visual identity.

A sharper energy moves through the collection with biker-inspired jackets and sculpted outerwear. These pieces balance the softness of the tulle while adding a graphic and contemporary edge. Hun Kim explores the relationship between strength and delicacy through lighter tailoring that still maintains structure and control.

Accessories continue the collection’s clean visual direction. The K/Autograph line adopts sculptural forms with smooth contours and structured finishes in black-and-white leather. Together, the designs reflect a modern interpretation of theatrical dressing shaped by discipline, movement and visual clarity.
