Dina The Shapeshifting Make-Up Artist

In this new article of artists you need to know about we present Dina, a Siberian artist that shape-shifts into all the art pieces and photographies you can think of, expanding the realms of make-up art.

In this new article of Artist Watchout, we bring you Dina The Shapeshifting Make-Up Artist, a talented young creative redefining transformation. The Siberian-born and St. Petersburg-based artist has been consistently sharing her work on Instagram, building a strong community of 169 thousand followers captivated by her creations.

Art imitates life or life imitates art? Dina captures attention by shape-shifting into different visual worlds—reinterpreting everything from iconic artworks to internet imagery. The work is precise, almost exact. Each transformation feels like a direct reflection of the original.

We can appreciate in her Tik-Tok and Instagram page that at first she started taking inspiration from many photographs and evoking an essence of the picture in her make-up designs and later moved-on onto the metamorphosing aspect of her creations. She reshapes art to create more art, transporting the canvases from a material object to her face, becoming the artwork.

Dina camouflages and mutates into different characters and objects transporting herself to other periods of time, to other lives and imaginaries. Her idea is fresh and innovative, something that would perfectly fit into theater or film. We hope her talent achieves great things and without a doubt she is an artist that you must keep an eye on, for a blow of fresh air and  inspiration on your feed.
