Kelly Lee Owens Begins Fresh Chapter with New Single "Higher" and Upcoming Album Dreamstate

Kelly Lee Owens dropped her latest single last Thursday, as part of her upcoming album and new project, symbolizing a new and fresh start in her career under dh2’s umbrella. The Welsh singer and producer continues her journey with dh2, the new Dirty Hit imprint which, under George Daniel’s leadership, will be responsible for the artistic math of a prominent part of the new wave in the electronic art scene. 

Following the storyline set by her two previous and leading singles, Love You Got and Sunshine, Higher rambles about the concept of personal growth submerged by an euphoric and reassuring feeling that the best is yet to come. A feeling never before captured through the artist’s musical experience. 

Despite having very little to no lyrics, Owens explores production seeking to arouse the listener's curiosity by making almost exclusive use of the structure, which is exquisitely constructed to be more than enough to alter one’s brain chemistry. 

Consequently, her previous works seem to have remained an anecdote the singer isn’t sure if she will resort to again, with a more cosmic and gloomier beat that, taken what she has already spoken about, do not represent her current vital and professional situation. 

However, it is one she can look back on with gratitude for serving as the basis for two of her multiple and distinguishable facets: her brief but capturing lyricism and stage presence. Dreamstate, which will be released on October 18, will seek to navigate the encounter of the self through introspection, tying her most infallible weapon (the sweetness of her voice) with a completely hypnotizing warm techno beat. As part of her new project, Owens will embark on a tour around European venues beginning in October and culminating in Brighton, with the possibility of crossing the pond.
