For the Spring/Summer 2025 collection, Jonathan Anderson, creative director of Loewe, continued his tradition of blending fashion, art, and craftsmanship. Over the past decade, Anderson has redefined the brand, creating thought-provoking collections that challenge and inspire the fashion world. His latest offering, presented in the neutral, expansive setting of the Vincennes Castle in Paris, encapsulated his signature approach: a seamless balance of surrealism and wearability, where garments become coveted pieces of art.
The theme of the collection was heavily inspired by Oscar Wilde’s 1889 essay, which proposed the idea that "life imitates art much more than art imitates life." Anderson embraced this notion, infusing the collection with intellectual depth and layered references that invite the audience to decode the meaning behind each piece. The collection felt like a tribute to the beauty of art, life, and nature, reflected in both the intricate details and bold choices seen throughout the show.
A key motif throughout Anderson’s work is his exploration of structure and volume. This was evident in SS25, with billowing balloon dresses and bright, A-line babydolls featuring wire-trimmed ruffles that added a playful yet sophisticated flair to the runway.
